Allied Rifleman
One of the most popular classes on the Allied side. The M1 Garand is a semi-automatic rifle that only kills instantly with a headshot. It warps a little, but can be fired quickly thanks to its semi-automatic action. This medium-range weapon cannot be reloaded while ammunition is still in the chamber. Only when the chamber is empty and the last cartridge and chamber have been discharged from the weapon with a loud sound can the next chamber be loaded with cartridges. This makes reloading quite quick.

Secondary weapon: | Knife |
Grenades: | 2 Rifle Grenades |
Allied Assault
The ideal weapon for rapid urban combat. The Thompson shoots quickly, has a large magazine and is very accurate at close range. In Day of Defeat: Source, the assault squad also got the fist strike as a secondary attack, which means that if you have ammunition problems and are fast enough, you can take out the enemy in close combat.
Primary weapon: | Thompson |
Secondary weapon: | Cold 1911 |
Grenades: | Grenade, Smoke |
Allied Support
The BAR. has a strong caliber, but low firepower and a recoil that should not be underestimated in sustained fire. Nevertheless, this weapon is very effective in narrow corridors due to its precision. Switching to semi-automatic also allows it to be used with extreme precision. Compared to its predecessor, the bipod has been removed.
Primary weapon: | BAR |
Secondary weapon: | Knife |
Grenades: | 2 Grenades |
Allied Sniper
The sniper rifle called Springfield has no crosshairs – unless you are “zooming” – and is therefore very imprecise. However, if the shooter manages to reach a covered position with a knife and Colt from which he has an overview of the action, he can clear half a map without being hit himself. The sniper rifle is therefore often decisive in the hands of experienced players.
Primary weapon: | Springfield |
Secondary weapon: | Colt 1911, Knife |
Grenades: | None |
Allied Machine Gunner
The machine gunner’s weapon can hardly be used while running due to its high recoil. However, once the bipod is folded out, the weapon can clear the way forward thanks to its high rate of fire and the lack of recoil. The machine gun only scatters at longer distances.
Primary weapon: | .30 Cal |
Secondary weapon: | Colt 1911, Knife |
Grenades: | None |
Allied Rocket
The rocket launcher can usually only kill enemies with a direct hit. The weapon must also be shouldered before you can fire. However, the rocket launcher is good at taking out enemy machine guns by firing several rockets outside the machine gun’s field of vision and firing next to it. As the rockets also cause damage to the side, the enemy can be killed in this way.
Primary weapon: | Bazooka |
Secondary weapon: | M1 Carbine, Knife |
Grenades: | None |
Axis Rifleman
The Mauser K98k is the first choice for experienced players. It is a bolt-action rifle and usually kills with one shot. Although the next cartridge has to be drawn into the barrel after each shot, this is not a problem for experienced shooters. The Grenadiers class is very effective over long distances thanks to the high precision of the rifle, even when it is not being used.
Primary weapon: | Mauser K98k |
Secondary weapon: | Spade |
Grenades: | 2 Rifle Grenades |
Axis Assault
Powerful weapon for house-to-house combat with low recoil, but also relatively low damage. It also has a fist attack in case ammunition runs low. However, the weapon cannot be used over longer distances, which is why such areas should be avoided if at all possible.
Primary weapon: | MP 40 |
Secondary weapon: | Luger P38 |
Grenades: | Grenade, Smoke |
Axis Support
The STG 44 is an automatic assault rifle that is relatively powerful at medium range. Thanks to the semi-automatic mode, it can also be used for long-range targets. Due to the low recoil, which should not be underestimated, short bursts are the best way to eliminate enemies.
Primary weapon: | STG 44 |
Secondary weapon: | Spade |
Grenades: | 2 Grenades |
Axis Sniper
Like the Axis partner, the sniper in normal mode lacks the thread crue, which is why he is better off staying in the background. However, once he has made himself comfortable, he can cover large areas and is still difficult to catch. If he is fast enough, he can also neutralize enemy machine guns very well.
Primary weapon: | K98k Sniper |
Secondary weapon: | Luger P38, Spade |
Grenades: | None |
Axis Machine Gunner
The MG 42 is one of the most powerful weapons in the hands of fast players. Although it cannot be controlled while running, it is incredibly powerful when the bipod is folded out. It has an extremely high rate of fire and can clear away anything that doesn’t take cover, whether friend or foe. However, its barrel heats up very quickly due to the high rate of fire. Once the maximum has been reached, you can no longer fire and have to wait until the barrel has cooled down.
Primary weapon: | MG 42 |
Secondary weapon: | Luger P38, Spade |
Grenades: | None |
Axis Rocket
As with the Allies’ rocket launcher, only a direct hit is fatal, but the Panzerschreck has to be shouldered before you can fire. Despite having a secondary weapon, a rocket fighter can only defend itself poorly against attacking enemies in close combat, which is why it is better to operate under the protection of allies. This weapon is effective as a machine gun defense.
Primary weapon: | Panzerschreck |
Secondary weapon: | Mauser C96, Spade |
Grenades: | None |
